F-Droid is an alternative app store for Android. It hosts a huge collection of apps that are free (both as in freedom and as in free beer) and open source.
? Understand what F-Droid is, what its benefits and limitations are ? Be able to install apps using F-Droid ? Know how to publish your own Android apps on F-Droid
This talk is an introduction to F-Droid. In the first half, we will discuss the user perspective: what F-Droid is, why you should use it, what its limitations are, how to install F-Droid, and how to use it to discover and install Android apps. In the second half we will look at the developer perspective: how to publish your own apps on F-Droid, how F-Droid’s internal process of building and publishing apps works, and how to contribute to F-Droid in general.
